AGU Researchers Prepare For GEO6 Youth Report

Researchers from the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) are preparing to launch the second edition of the Global Environment Outlook for Youth in Asia-Pacific report (GEO6 Youth), which is issued by the United Nations Environment, in line with the Global Environment Outlook 6 Regional Assessments (GEO6), which is planned to be launched on March.
The report includes a display of the main environmental issues in the Asia-Pacific region and their possible impacts on the youth and their future, in addition to the means to combat them from the prospective of the youth.
The report also showcases some of the key youth initiatives launched to protect the environment and national resources in the Asia-Pacific region. Majority of the initiatives are voluntary works carried out by individuals of both genders aged between 15-24 years, reflecting their awareness and concern about the sustainable development of the environment and preserving its natural resources.
United Nations Environment Reports Writing Expert Dr. Asmaa Abahussain has supervised the team and directed the members on the write form of writing the report. Dr. Abahussain is also a member of the Scientific Consultation Committee for the Global Environment Outlook 6 Regional Assessments Report.
The team is headed by PhD Student in the Environment and Natural Resources Department in AGU Ms. Alanood Al Khatlan, who is also a main contributor to the GEO6 Youth and GEO6 reports. United Nations Environment Asia-Pacific Regional Office Manager Mr. Sami Dimasi, Dr. Abdulmunem Ahmed and Ms. Awatif Abdulla are also participating as supervisors of the making of the GEO6 report.
