AGU’s Specialist Delivers Workshop on Research Methods

Manama – AGU: Library Specialist in the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) Hussain Al Fardan recently delivered a workshop titled “Research Methods for Information in a Digital Environment”.
The event was organised by the Bahraini Library and Information Association in coordination with the Specialised Library Association (GCC branch) and saw the participation of specialised and serving in the information and library sector as well as academics and researchers.
The workshop discussed several important topics covering digital research and knowledge as well as the evaluation methods of e-content and research skills. It also shed light on the types of online research engines and the characteristics of each one of them.
During the event, Al Fardan revealed: “Using information published on online is subject to many conditions, including intellectual responsibility. The author of the quoted text shall be clearly mentioned. The qualifications and experiences of those responsible for the information must be shared with the readers while using only reliable sources.”
He further explained: “With regards to the research strategies, they are based on several main questions such as what we are searching for? What do we want to get? What’s the nature of the information we are searching for?”
Al Fardan added that information could help users develop key skills, including decision-making, self-learning, career growth, alongside entertainment and developing general knowledge.
