The American University in Dubai, through its Center for Executive Programs and Professional Services (CEPPS), signed an MOU with Dubai Press Club to launch a Social Media Influencers Diploma Program for UAE-based Arab social media influencers. The initiative was officially announced at the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit which was held on December 10, 2018 at Dubai World Trade Center under the patronage and with the attendance of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The program content will be developed and delivered by selected faculty from AUD’s Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC) who are specialized in the various areas pertaining to social media. Commencing in the second quarter of 2019, the program will cover a range of topics to hone the knowledge and skills of the participants, enhance their digital content production, and align them with the vision of the UAE government. Themes encompassing an overview of the digital media landscape, the impacts of social media on society, social media marketing, branding and metrics, creative video content for social media, fact checking and its ethical and legal underpinnings, and transmedia for influencers are included in the eight month program. Dubai Press Club will select 100 social media influencers based in the UAE, in cohorts of 20, to complete the program.

Participants will be able to significantly enhance their strategic mindset, create compelling narratives and learn how to leverage current and evolving new media trends.”
