Life is the most complex and intrigued process, which commences at a point of conception and continues until one believes in it. Every life has a purpose, and ‘life’ as a word itself has been defined, re-defined numerable times. But the real significance of life lies in its transformation, from ordinary life to a beautiful life or the meaning that life crafted as the process goes on. In the words of Greek philosopher Aristotle,” the final end of human life is to flourish, to live well, to have a good life. ” The purpose of life has been further explained in the holy book Bhagwat Gita, which elucidates that the ultimate purpose of life is only to attain everlasting love, peace and happiness/Anandam, realize God and our true nature.
In this endeavor to achieve the life as envisioned by the great philosophers of our times and the ultimate goal which leads to beautiful life/lives lies with the better quality of human beings, which since the beginning of our understanding of life and till date is related to the very need of ‘human rights’. Those rights, which when practiced earnestly, lead to the path of “love, peace and happiness” and give every human a chance to “to flourish, to live well, to have a good life”.
With this ambition to bring today’s generation’s creative mind’s focus on ‘human rights’ and how it leads to the attainment of beautiful, fulfilling life, the School of Communication, GD Goenka University, is organizing ‘2nd International Students Film & Photography Festival: Fotographia 2018’ scheduled on October 26, 2018, at GD Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. The spectacular event will be graced by the presence of eminent actor, writer and producer, Mr Vivek Vaswani along with other industry stalwarts.
The overall theme of this year fest is “Beautiful Lives: Human Dignity Human Rights”, and shall provide a kaleidoscope of those positive changes, which are happening in human lives due to the propagation of human rights. ‘Beautiful lives’, which promote ideas like inclusion, justice, equality, progress, human rights, dignity, empowerment, freedom of speech and so on. It is a creative attempt to influence and sensitive young minds to understand critical issues related to sustainable development goals and human rights and the kind of positive transformation it can bring in our society.
The Fotographia 2018 is an annual fest of creativity, imagination and quest to discover new talents in young budding filmmakers and photographers. The fest aims to bring together diverse school and college students from India and abroad and provide them with meaningful encouragement and inspiration.
So, pick up your cameras, set your focus and as ‘the heart and mind are the true lens of the camera,’ so take the picture, craft a story that ‘savors life intensely, every hundredth of a second.”

Fotographia 2018 is an initiative of the School of Communication, GD Goenka University, to celebrate creative and unique visions. The platform is dedicated to discovering emerging and unknown talents at the high school and university levels from around the world. This is one of the few international film and arts festivals dedicated to budding filmmaker’s with aims to provide them with an authentic film festival experience, a valuable understanding of the film industry, and an opportunity to screen their movies on “the big screen.” The Festival seeks to nurture and showcase ability as well as the art of film making which encompasses aspects of the arts, culture, history, crafts, geography, cuisine & lifestyle in short what makes us what we are.
