In a collaborative effort between GUST, the Kuwait National Commission for UNESCO-ISESCO, and the Ministry of Education, the university held the National Forum for Supporting Vocational Education in Kuwait on its campus this week. The event, under the patronage of the Minister of Education and Higher Education Professor, Hammed Al-Azmi, and was officially inaugurated by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Saud Al-Harbi.
The forum welcomed different government and private entities as well as NGOs, including Mr. Harith AlMahrooqi experts from Oman, for a two-day workshop to discuss vocational education in Kuwait, and the number of ways they can work together to support it and allow it to thrive. Participants attended several focused group discussions covering different topics such as the current status of the vocational education and its future visions, the vocational education curriculum, the role of government and private entities as well as NGOs in supporting vocational education, and the investment in vocational education led by experts in the field, such as Dr. Fatimah Alhashem and Prof. Jassem Alansari. They also had the opportunity to attend several discussion groups to start open discussions and brainstorm ideas.
The university is always keen on supporting events that will solidify its position as a frontrunner in the educational sector, and will contribute to the benefit and development of the Kuwait community as a whole.
