Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government and Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University Sign Academic Cooperation Agreement at 3rd UAE Public Policy Forum

Dubai, January 27, 2019 – The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) has signed an agreement with the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) at the 3rd annual UAE Public Policy Forum to strengthen academic cooperation and facilitate the exchange of scientific expertise.

The announcement was made in a press conference held during the Forum, which MBRSG is organising in collaboration with the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.

MBRSG’s Executive His Excellency President Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri and H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, signed the agreement in the presence of members of faculty from both institutions.

Dr. Mansoor Al Awar stressed on the importance of strengthening academic, scientific and knowledge cooperation with the MBRSG, a leader in governance and public policy – further pointing out that the new strategic partnership is an important step towards improving the ability of teaching staff to effectively deal with the smart learning environment that supports developing young competencies empowered by knowledge tools and equipped with the skills of the 21st century, in line with the insightful vision of the wise leadership that called for investment in the youth as ‘renewable wealth.’

HBMSU’s Chancellor added: “The new cooperation has helped lead the way for us in making a giant leap with MBRSG to be at pace with the changes made in education–complementing the UAE’s strategic objectives, including the 4th article of the ‘Fifty-Year Charter,’ which has allowed us to take the lead in laying solid foundations for its success. The partnership is also expected to play a key role in the adoption of smart learning and lifelong learning approaches to discover and develop creative and highly skilled individuals that can take the initiative in the field of development, growth and leadership in the future.”

For his part, H.E. Dr. Al Marri said: “The agreement we are signing today embodies the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership to improve scientific research and strengthen cooperation among various educational institutions to enrich education, enhance its effectiveness, create new opportunities for the future, and achieve sustainable development. The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University is a tremendous addition to our list of scientific partners, considering the institution’s leading role in driving innovation, smart education, and knowledge building and application, not to mention its excellence in business management and joint scientific research.”

Al Marri added. “We will also be working to foster greater collaboration with various universities and academic institutions in the UAE, the region, and the world to drive tangible progress in all sectors and achieve the success that our leadership aspires to.”

As per the agreement, the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University will train MBRSG faculty members to teach in a smart-learning environment through its Faculty Certificate in Smart Learning . The two entities will work to create and continuously upgrade smart academic services, exchange ideas, and develop innovative programmes, plans and projects. The agreement will also enhance cooperation towards developing academic programmes in smart education, as well as conducting studies and research into e-learning, Total Quality Management and healthcare management.
