President of the AGU appoints Dr Abdel Halim Deifalla Dean of the College of Medicine

President of Arabian Gulf University (AGU), Khalid Abdulrahman Al-Ohaly, issued a decree appointing Dr Abdel Halim Deifalla, Professor of Anatomy at the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences, as Dean of the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences.
Dr Deifalla expressed his deep gratitude to the President of AGU for his continuous appreciation and support of the academic faculty at the university, particularly in providing an academic environment conducive to innovation, creativity and scientific research. He said: “At AGU, we aim to be a distinguished academic and research centre to address the concerns of GCC countries. Therefore, the university prioritises research that is concerned with developing solutions to the health problems facing the Gulf citizen.”
It is noteworthy that Deifalla holds a joint supervision PhD of Anatomy from Suez Canal University and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany, 1997, for his thesis, “Study of the Genetic and Anthropometric Composition of the Inhabitants of North Sinai”. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Anatomy and Embryology from Suez Canal University, 1992; a Diploma in Paediatrics from Suez Canal University, 1999; a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Kasr Al Ainy Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, 1986.
In addition, he has worked as a researcher at the Colleges of Medicine at the Louisiana and Arizona State Universities, USA. He has over 50 papers published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and has supervised many master’s and doctorate dissertations in the fields of Anatomy and Molecular Medicine. He is a member of several local and international scientific societies such as the Human Genome Organization (HUGO) and the Association of Congenital Anomalies, USA.
Deifalla has worked as Vice Dean of the College of Medicine for Academic Affairs and as Chairman of Anatomy at the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences, AGU. He also heads the Curriculum Committee at the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences and the Promotions Committee at AGU.
