In his address, the Chancellor welcomed the attendees and relayed the congratulations of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, as well as his wishes for their success in their academic journeys.

His Excellency then directed his words to the new students congratulating them for choosing the University of Sharjah. He added that it is one of the largest in the UAE in terms of the number of students and programs offered, and housing centers for scientific research and excellence and advanced laboratories. He continued that the University’s doors and its faculty and staff members are always open to support students with their challenges and to support students and provide them with a second home.

The University of Sharjah, the Chancellor added, is always keen to provide the resources and services throughout the day necessary to encourage students to grow and innovate. That is why the University is working on two student forums and air-conditioned hallways to add to students’ comfort.

The assembly commenced with the National Anthem followed by an informative clip about the Deanship’s cultural, artistic, athletic, social, and volunteer activities, which give students an opportunity to showcase their talents. This was followed by a clip about the Security and Safety Unit, which highlighted information about parking regulations, issuing exit permits for female students, parking stickers, student ID cards, and the code of conduct that suits the educational environment of the University.

During the Success and Ambitions segment, the University’s female students shared their experiences throughout the previous years with the Student Activities Section, the UoS Young Women Group, the Ushers, the Art Studio, the Counseling and Psychological Services Section, the Sports Complex, as well as the Disability Resource Center.

The Sustainability Office at the University also shared information about the concept of sustainability and the University’s role in protecting the environment in ways that allow students to correctly and safely contribute to the cause.

At the end of the assembly, the students participated in competitions and draws sponsored by Sharjah Islamic Bank while being informed of the services available at the bank for new students.
