Professor Mohamed Albaili, Vice Chancellor of United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), stressed that UAEU has become a leading educational institution with the highest education and research standards and is ranked among the world’s most prestigious universities. Most of the UAEU’s programs have received international accreditations such as the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) as well as the high world rankings of its colleges.
This progression has helped enhance the UAEU’s international status, especially after its recent transformation into a research university that supports research, innovation and creativity. UAEU works in line with the UAE national agenda in order to achieve the sustainable development set by the UAE leadership in the National Strategy for Higher Education 2030, aiming to prepare national cadre capable of responding to job market demands.
Addressing the new faculty, Professor Ghaleb Al Hadrami, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, pointed out the university’s keenness on research and how UAEU, “the University of the Future”, employs it to face future challenges, being one of its essential goals to promote its international status. “We are looking forward to your involvement in promoting innovation and creativity among students, launching international initiatives and developing research innovations,” added Professor Al Hadrami.
During the meeting, the new faculty members were acquainted with the available research opportunities and advanced research centers in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution requirements through establishing strategic partnerships between UAEU and other educational institutions and advanced research centers. The new faculty were also introduced to the UAEU new bylaws set in line with the UAE’s constant development.
